Montelena
Montelena
is a family neighborhood located just east of Pomerado in the northern part
of Rancho Bernardo. This area was developed in the late 70s and 80s.
One notable feature about Montelena is the wide variety of appearances of homes. While this is a tract home neighborhood, the same model may have been built with a stucco, wood, rock, or brick exterior. There are a variety of roof types too – ceramic tile, concrete tile, and even some wood shake roofs. So, as you drive the streets of Montelena, you never get the impression that all of the homes look alike.
Except
the Carlyle Collection! A different builder than the rest of Montelena built
one street, Lancashire Way. Every home on this street is stucco with tile
roof and the stucco of all homes is a pastel orange color – actually
very attractive! The Carlyle Collection was built in the late 80s and is very
upscale.
Montelena residents enjoy the Rancho Bernardo Swim and Tennis Club. Many homes offer nice mountain views. And, for you shopaholics, some homes have a nice view of Nordstrom!
This neighborhood is close to Chaparral Elementary, which is another big plus for parents of young children.
